Rita M. Brendle, 87, of St. Petersburg, FL and formerly of Manchester, NH died suddenly on Tuesday August 19, 2014 at the Bay Front Medical Center Suncoast Hospice in St. Petersburg, FL. Rita was born in Manchester, NH on October 6, 1926, the daughter of the late Francis and Cecile (Beaulieu) Quigley. Rita and her husband Ernest lived in Manchester and Bedford, NH until moving to St. Petersburg, FL in 1987. Rita and Ernie lived their retirement life happily at the Five Towns Condominium Complex until Ernie’s passing in October 1997. Rita worked during the early part of her life at several mills in Manchester. She was also employed at Foster Grant and Tel Labs companies, also in Manchester, until retiring on June 1, 1978. She was of the Catholic Faith and was a member of St. Raphael’s Church in Manchester and St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Bedford during her years living in NH. In St. Petersburg, FL she was a member of the Holy Cross Church. Members of the family include her daughter Gerrie Girard and her husband Jack of Plymouth, MA, her son Richard E. Brendle of Jefferson, NH and his significant other Jeanette Worrell of North Redington Beach, FL. Rita is also survived by a grand-daughter Catherine Girard of Plymouth, MA. Services: At Rita’s request, services will be held privately for family members only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to any local animal shelter to help homeless and abandoned pets.
