It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert E. Boettcher devoted husband and father on October 24th, 2017 after a courageous battle with Leukemia, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Manchester, NHthe son of the late William and Ruth Boettcher, Husband of Lois (Devlin) Boettcher whom he married on May 27, 1967 and recently celebrated his 50th anniversary with a trip to the islands.
Bob attended Manchester West, graduating in 1963 then joined the Air National Guard from 1963 to 1969. He completed basic training at Lackland Air Force in TX and was then stationed at Pease Air Force Base in NH. Bob, worked for Western Electric (Lucent Technologies) as a draftsman where he retired with 40 years of service. He spent the following years doing construction for those he knew, also building and remodeling his own homes with his wife at his side. He especially enjoyed golfing with friends, Glen Lake, his perfect green lawns and beating his son in poker.
Bob, is survived by his favorite son Craig Boettcher, his brothers William Boettcher Jr. and his wife Karen, his brother Peter and his wife Donna, nephews Wiliam Boettcher III (Becky & family), and Karl Boettcher. He is also survived by sisters in law Jane Devlin and Patricia Sirrell (Paul) and his brother in law Gary Devlin.
Bob is also survived by several nieces and nephews Kellie (Chris), Ashleigh (Kevin), Allysa (Blake), Katelyn, Brien (Tonya), Stacey, Scott, Mark and Shawn.
He is also survived by a very special family Jay and Beth and their daughter Maeve whom he absolutely adored.
He was predeceased by James F Devlin Jr, Gail McLaughlin and two very special people his Godson PFC Matt Lucey and Diane Blay.
A very special thank you goes out to close friends and neighbors Moe & Maureen, Pat & Sharon, Jay & Beth, Dan & Lois, Verne & Gloria and Ray & Marilyn who were a blessing to our family during a most difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Brigham & Women’s Hospital
Memorial Remembrance will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in the Cain & Janosz Funeral Home and Cremation Service 74 Brook St corner of Pine St. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 PM with Rev Jerome Day, officiating.
