Robert J Barton 73, of Manchester after a second battle with cancer “Bob” went home to be with his Lord, on March 8, 2017.  He was born in Flint, MI and grew up in Davison, MI and graduated from Fenton High School in 1961.  He then attended the University of Michigan wher he played trombone in the marching band and studied engineering physics.  His jobs took him from MI to CA where he worked at Stanford University’s linear accelerator.  Then he came to MA and finally settled in Amherst, NH where he raised a family and began a career in the home building industry.  He was building inspector and zoning administrator for the town of Amherst,  was self employed building houses as Barton Homes and then spent 18 years at Sundeen Lumber  as VP. He became self-employed again creating home plan as Accu Design then made  another career change to owner of The Red Barn Diner in Manchester, NH for the past 10 years.  Robert was predeceased by his parents Jesse and Ruth Barton and his three siblings, William, Esther and Bruce.  Family members include his wife Jean (Jenkins) Barton of 23 years.  His son David and wife Deborah Barton of Papua, New Guinea and son James and wife Kimberly of PA, five beautiful grandchildren James, Josiah, Nathaniel, Elayna and Benjamin and many nieces and nephews.

Services:  A Memorial Celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday March 18, 2017 at New Hope Christian Fellowship 292 Route 101, Bedford, NH. 

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators in his memory or New Hope Christian Fellowship.
